About

ABOUT laura.tinard@gmail.com I am Laura Tinard, a French novelist and artist (performance and video) born in 1991 in Nice. My first novel J’ai perdu mon roman is published at Les éditions du Seuil, collection Fiction & Cie (January 2022). I hold a master’s degree in French literature from La Sorbonne (Paris IV) and a master’s in art and choreography (Brussels Académie des Beaux arts). For four years, I have been living in an ancient bowery (Les Brasseries Atlas, Brussels) with a dozen of artists where I have been co-founded 3000 Degrees a festival of literature and performance. My background in performance brings a particular dramaturgy to the literacy of my novel. My approach to performance has most of the time challenged the scenic context and is intrinsically linked to literature. How can a text perform? My interest also lies in fiction as unraveling and expanding outside of the book: what happens to the characters once the book is over? How do they survive the end of the story, how do they escape from the narrative? Where do they go? In 2019, Ireceived the DanceWEB Residency and scholarship program in Vienna (Impulstanz) under the mentorship of Anne Juren, Annie Dorsen and Mette Ingvartsen. In 2021, my performance OceanSkyLine has been rewarded by the Academia Belgica Prize Rome. My work has been also supported by I-Portunus Europe Creative Mobility and Flanders State of the Art. Some of my performances have been shown in Lausanne (Festival Les Urbaines), Brussels (Festival Bâtard, Beursschouwburg), Vienna (Impusltanz Festival), Paris (Centre Wallonie Bruxelles Paris 2022), Marseille (Festival Actoral). In 2022, I am part of the seventeen edition of The mountain School of Arts ( Los Angeles ).
